The Rocky Mountain Front, North-Central Montana
The Two Medicine Dinosaur Center is located in Bynum, Montana,
approximately half-way between Great Falls and Glacier Park on U.S. 89. Bynum is a small community
of approximately 20 people (when everyone is home!) nestled in the heart of dinosaur country. The
closest "metropolitan" area is the town of Choteau. Most overnight visitors to the area stay and do their shopping in Choteau.
The Paleontology Front
The Two Medicine Formation is one of the most paleontologically
significant rock layers in the world. From its sediments, the first dinosaur eggs from North America,
the first discovered nest of dinosaur babies in the world, and the closest dinosaur/bird relative
from North America have been recovered.
The Two Medicine Dinosaur Center is located in the heart of this
Formation, and only a few miles from where these discoveries were made. The Center is a non-profit
research and educational institution whose main focus is the dinosaurs of the Two Medicine Formation.
Come and see for yourself the unique fossils preserved in this area, and
while you are here, please take time to enjoy the many other area attractions. Dinosaurs, early
mammals, Native Americans, and even Lewis and Clark enjoyed the splendor of this area, and you will too!
